Emma Raducanu admits she felt “creeped out” after seeing a picture of her with an apparent boyfriend was captured by the paparazzi and made the headlines in British tabloids.

10 days ago, Raducanu went out in London with a group of friends and there was one male individual. The following day, British tabloids posted about it – the romantic speculations instantly started – and it was also revealed by one tabloid that the name of the individual was Jack Coman. 

At the start of this week, Raducanu met with British tennis journalists to discuss various topics. During their conversation, the 23-year-old spoke about feeling freer in public than she used to be. However, the 2021 US Open also admitted that a recent situation left her feeling uncomfortable. 

Raducanu then proceeded to clarify that the male individual in question was her best friend’s brother, and that they were nothing but friends.

“Honestly, I have gotten over it. What did creep me out was I saw a photo of myself in London, and I didn’t see the paps [paparazzi]. I was with my two best friends. This happened last week, and it was some tabloid article saying I had a new boyfriend or whatever. But it’s literally my best friend’s brother. I was like: ‘Come on, guys. Come on. Be better. This is not [true],'” the British tennis star said.

“I was with my best friend’s brother, and we were going to the rugby. And of course, they cropped my best friend out. It was just me and this guy, and I just didn’t see the paps. So that’s obviously creepy. You know, when you’re like: ‘I didn’t see them. How did they take this photo?’ But other than that, I feel good because someone’s always watching my back.”

Raducanu is no stranger to love life speculations. During the summer, the 23-year-old multiple times repeated that there wasn’t anything between her and Carlos Alcaraz. At Wimbledon, one reporter even asked Cameron Norrie if he was dating the 2021 US Open champion. 

In an interview that was published a month ago, Raducanu described certain speculations about her love life as “cringe.”
