Carlos Alcaraz can be really proud of his achievements this season, considering that he has already collected eight titles and returned to the top of the ATP rankings thanks to the exceptional consistency shown from the spring onwards.

The Spanish ace has filed some flaws that had conditioned him in the past seasons and has embellished his 2025 with two Grand Slam trophies, respectively at Roland Garros (where he won an epic final against his huge rival Jannik Sinner also saving three match points) and at the US Open, as well as having won three Masters 1000 (in Monte Carlo, Rome and Cincinnati).

The 22-year-old from Murcia had not started the season in the best way and admitted that he had not found the right motivation for a period, but the momentum of his year changed after his premature elimination in the second round of the Miami Open during the spring.

Alcaraz has endured a packed schedule

Carlitos’ main goal right now is to end 2025 at the top of the ATP rankings, before focusing his attention on the Davis Cup Finals scheduled in Bologna. The current world No.1 will do a couple of exhibition matches in the United States in December (against Frances Tiafoe and Joao Fonseca) and then begin preparation for 2026.

Speaking on ‘Tennis Channel’ during the Paris Masters 1000, former American champion Jim Courier explained that there are some tournaments that Alcaraz is expected to miss next year: “Here’s what I think he should remove from this. The goal here is simply this: Get three-week breaks a few times during the calendar where you can recover from the jet lag and you can rebuild and rest. So, where do we start? After the Australian Open, Rotterdam. I’m sorry, Richard Krajicek, the tournament director. That’s gone.”

Jim also added: “We’ll pick it up in Doha. We’ll run strong through the sunshine double, Indian Wells, Miami. But guess what, Monte-Carlo, you’re out. Barcelona, that’s gonna be a harder one for him to say no to because it’s in Spain. But if he wants three weeks to really build his body and be fresh for the grind that starts from Madrid through Wimbledon, I think Monte-Carlo has to go, and Barcelona should go.”
