Emma Raducanu will have to wait for another day to kick off her Seoul campaign after a persistent rain delayed the world No. 33’s opening match at the Korea Open.
On Tuesday, Raducanu was slated to hit the court and play against world No. 41 Jaqueline Cristian.
Due to rain, the matches scheduled to start the day had to be instantly pushed back. After a couple of hours of waiting for the rain to stop, Barbora Krejcikova and Tatiana Prozorova entered the Centre Court for their match, while Diana Shnaider and Caty McNally started their clash on Grandstand. Krejcikova won her match in an hour and 18 minutes, while Shnaider and McNally were in the second set of their match when rain started to fall again.
Rain is back again at the Seoul WTA 500. Play suspended in the following matches:

An hour later, the Seoul organizers decided to make some scheduling changes, but Raducanu and Cristian were still scheduled to play today. Unfortunately, the rain never stopped and the organizers decided to move all matches to Wednesday.
No more play today at the Seoul WTA 500.
All remaining Tuesday’s matches have been moved to tomorrow.

Raducanu will play against Krejcikova if she beats Cristian
As mentioned above, Krejcikova’s match was the only one that got to be played out today. And the 2024 Wimbledon champion now awaits the winner of the match between Raducanu and Cristian.
When Raducanu finally takes to the court on Wednesday, she will start her third Seoul campaign. In the past, the 22-year-old Briton was a semifinalist in 2022 and also reached the quarterfinal last year.
