The AUTC is one of the founding clubs of Adelaide University Sport and the men were first hitting the tennis balls over the net in 1885. Women started in 1912 and the two clubs combined in 1970.
Today, the club is involved in social and competition tennis on natural grass, four grass courts, and hard court. There is a strong social element to the club, both with social tennis and the competition teams.
